Aren't these two the cutest pair!? This is my dog photography session with an American Pitbull Terrier and a Border Collie/German Shepherd mix.
Bruce and Hera was so wonderful. They are both so sweet and so well trained (high five, fur mama)—it made my job significantly easier.
Before we started the session, as always I allowed the dogs time to become comfortable with their surroundings...they ran around, sniffed and did their business. We took many breaks during the session too.
Bruce (the Pitbull Terrier) would sit for days, I think, if you asked him. He remained sitting even while we gave Hera (the Border Collie/German Shepherd mix) instruction. They were fantastic with distractions too! The location had a large body of water with multiple entry points and geese galore who "chatted" to us the entire time. The dogs didn't mind them at all.
We were the only people and dogs there which is always nice but was especially fortunate for this session as these dogs are both reactive. They did amazing.
Their owner was just as much of a gem as they were! She brought all kinds of treats and toys for them as well as extra scarves and leads. She, too, was very patient and did a lot of running around and repositioning.
I tell my clients that the session is fun but also is quite a bit of work although the end result is SO WORTH IT!
